CJ Collins

Every once in a blue moon, you get the opportunity to do something truly special. Ever since I met Cj Collins, I was inspired! Inspired by her energy her ray of light and not to mention her body of works. I first cut Cj six months ago. She came in with long grown out but still beautiful hair. She wanted to cut it all off but I saw the opportunity to do something that I have been waiting 12 years to do. I suggested we do a full color gloss using a silver toner only. This just enhanced the grey and made it more silvery. Then we did a Brazilian straightening treatment to remove all the frizz and smooth out the course grey hairs. One this was done, I had the perfect canvas to paint on. I have been creating pieces like this for over a decade now but who better to do it on than Cj! Thanks Cj!!!!

Channeling my inner Venus to create these sexy haircuts!

With Sarah's hair, i keep her layers long and fluid. I keep most of her layers underneath and remove the bulk rather than length. her haircuts just keep getting better and better with time.

With Laura, I decided to use the Brazilian Straightner on the underneath parts of her hair. i took a V section all the way around her hear. The idea was to minimize the bulk in between all her great layers. She now has a much easier time blow drying her hair and her hair looks longer since there is less bulk. Laura's color is also amazing, we do hi lift hiligts using various gold shades. It sparkles....!

Client Conversations

I had an interesting conversation with a client today about "at what age should a women have shorter hair". This particular client is one of my oldest and favorite clients to work on. i remember back in the 90's when there was a certain age when women would cut all their hair off. It was almost like it was a social order to do so and that it was unacceptable for "older" women to have longer hair.
As i thought about it, if it were back in the 90's, there would of been an age given but these days, things are different! women cary themselves differently the attitude is different. there is no longer an age. When it comes down to it, it's all about how you wear it not what your wearing!
